A/Prof Alberta Hoi is a clinician-researcher and lupus expert from Australia. She is a principal investigator and associate professor at the Department of Medicine, the School of Clinical Sciences at Monash University. She has been instrumental in establishing the Australian Lupus Registry & Biobank, a crucial national disease registry that underpins many Australian and international studies examining outcomes in SLE. Her primary research interests explore disease predictors and patient outcomes, the impact of comorbidities, quality of care, and patient-centered interactions.
A/Prof Hoi plays an active role in a number of investigator-initiated SLE studies and clinical trials. She currently chairs the Australian Lupus Registry & Biobank Steering Committee and also serves on the executive committee of the Asia-Pacific Lupus Collaboration (APLC), providing strategic direction on research projects from this international collaboration.
