Akiko Nishimura is a professor of maternal nursing at the School of Nursing, Hyogo Medical University. She is involved in research on preconception care for AYA women with chronic diseases. She is a midwife and is in charge of outpatient preconception care for rheumatoid arthritis patients, inflammatory bowel disease patients, and diabetic patients in the outpatient nursing clinic at Hyogo Medical University Hospital.
