Dr Cassandra Hong is a Senior Consultant in the Department of Rheumatology and Immunology, Singapore General Hospital (SGH). She graduated from the University of Edinburgh Medical School and subsequently underwent her Rheumatology and Internal Medicine training in London. She is a EULAR certified ultrasonologist and trainer, having completed the EULAR Course for Ultrasound Trainers in Rheumatology, EULAR Advanced Musculoskeletal Ultrasound Course, EULAR Intermediate Musculoskeletal Ultrasound Course and CASE Accredited Focused Ultrasound Diploma in Hands, Wrists and Feet in Rheumatology at Canterbury Christ Church University. She is skilled in the use of musculoskeletal ultrasound (MSKUS) in the assessment of inflammatory arthritis and perform MSKUS regularly to confirm the diagnosis and start treatment immediately in patients with early inflammatory arthritis, soft tissue rheumatism and large vessel vasculitis, and allow accurate ultrasound-guided joint aspiration and corticosteroid injections, if needed.
