Maureen Rischmueller is a rheumatologist and translational scientist at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital in South Australia and Northern Territory, Australia, and Clinical Professor at the University of Adelaide. In 1991 she established the longitudinal South Australian Sjögren’s Registry and Biobank, and in 2017 state-wide Sjögren’s and lupus clinics with embedded teaching and research, leading to productive multidisciplinary research collaborations, > 150 scientific publications and four book chapters. She is Principal Investigator of industry-sponsored multicenter clinical trials across a range of diseases including Sjögren, lupus, scleroderma, CTD-ILD, and psoriatic arthritis, which incorporate investigator-led sub-studies of immune dysregulation. She is Co-Chair of the OMERACT Sjögren’s Special Interest Group (SIG), and member of the APLAR Sjögren’s SIG, International Symposium Sjögren’s Disease Scientific Committee, EULAR Sjögren’s Taskforce, Sjögren’s Big Data Consortium, Sjögren’s Genetics Consortium, Australian Lupus Registry and Biobank, Indigenous Australian SLE Research Program, and Australian Scleroderma Interest Group.
