Meilisa is a medical registrar currently employed at a second level regional hospital in Queensland, Australia. Her initial interest in Rheumatology developed during her time as a resident medical officer in the Rheumatology department of a tertiary hospital. The complexity of the multisystem diseases she encountered then and the need for a holistic approach to patient care had inspired her. After completing basic physician training, Meilisa is now employed as Chief Medical Registrar in her current workplace. Half of her employment involves clinical duties in the Rheumatology department. She continues to enjoy working in the field of Rheumatology and currently working towards getting onto Rheumatology training. This specialised training will equip her with the necessary skills to address the unique needs of patients with rheumatological issues. She strives toward becoming a good physician who embraces a mindset of continuous learning and who delivers patient-centered care throughout her career.
