Dr. Swee-Ping Tang is Senior Consultant Paediatrician & Paediatric Rheumatologist, and Head of Paediatric Department at the Selayang Hospital, Malaysia. She graduated from the University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health, UK. She completed her Paediatric Rheumatology fellowship at the Birmingham Children’s Hospital, UK and the Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children, London, UK. She established and heads the first Paediatric Rheumatology tertiary referral center in Malaysia. She is passionate on teaching junior doctors and is the National Lead Examiner for MRCPCH (UK). She is an enthusiastic patient advocate through her work with the Arthritis Foundation Malaysia. She is also a keen clinical researcher, has authored book chapters and journal publications; and is also the Deputy Chairperson of the National Malaysian Research Ethical Committee. She is an active member of the APLAR Paediatric Rheumatology SIG.
