Christopher Denton PhD FRCP is Professor of Experimental Rheumatology at UCL Division of Medicine, London, UK and a consultant Rheumatologist at the Royal Free Hospital in London.
Professor Denton is an international expert on systemic sclerosis (scleroderma) with over 500 peer reviewed publications. He trained in medicine at Guy’s Hospital and obtained a PhD from University College London. His specialisation in rheumatology and connective tissue diseases was completed in London with additional training molecular genetics in USA at MD Anderson Cancer Center. His large clinical and translational research programme in scleroderma at the Royal Free Hospital co-ordinates multidisciplinary care for more than 1500 patients. He currently chairs the UK Scleroderma Study Group (UKSSG) and his research spans clinical, translational and fundamental science. His recent work focuses on molecular classification and precision medicine in systemic sclerosis.
