Dr. Tan is a Clinical Professor of Medicine at Sidney Kimmel Medical College (Thomas Jefferson University). Board certified in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology, Dr. Tan received her medical doctor degree from the State University of New York at Downstate in Brooklyn, NY. She completed her internship and residency at Montefiore Medical Center in New York, followed by Rheumatology Fellowship at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York.
She is an active committee member of the American College of Rheumatology and Pennsylvania Rheumatology Society. She is also a member of the Association of Women in Rheumatology and Philadelphia Rheumatism Society. She has been a Castle Connolly Top Doc for 8 consecutive years, as recognized by Philadelphia Magazine from 2017-2024. She was featured in Castle Connolly’s Exceptional Women in Medicine in 2017 and from 2019-2024.
Her clinical practice includes general rheumatology, and she has a special interest in systemic lupus erythematosus, macrophage activation syndrome, sympathetic joint effusion and IgG4 related disease. She is the Division Chair, Rheumatology Fellowship Program Director, and Director of Lupus Clinic at Jefferson Einstein Hospital in Philadelphia.
