Dr Patrick Gonzalez graduated from the University of Santo Tomas – Faculty of Medicine and Surgery in 2018 and took his postgraduate internship at the University of the Philippines-Philippine General Hospital the following year. He has since completed residency in Internal Medicine at the Manila Doctors Hospital where he served as Assistant Chief Resident for Academics during his third year. He has been undertaking fellowship in Infectious Diseases at the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine as of May 2024. His residency thesis titled “Associating Obesity and Mortality among Filipinos with Sepsis admitted in a tertiary medical institution in Manila: A retrospective study” won First Place in the departmental Primary Paper Contest in 2023 and has been submitted to the International Congress on Infectious Diseases for review and possible presentation in late 2024. His interests outside medicine include guitar, jazz fusion, coffee culture, literature, swimming and running.
