Dr. Babur Salim is a rheumatologist known for his dedication to patient care, research, and medical education. Born and raised in Rawalpindi, a city in Pakistan, Dr. Salim developed a passion for rheumatology at a young age, inspired by his father Dr. M. Salim and teacher Prof. Dr. Abid Farooqi.
After completing his undergraduate studies, he pursued his medical degree at Islamic International Medical College. He then went on to complete his residency at Holy Family Hospital in Rawalpindi, followed by fellowship in Rheumatology at Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS). Upon completing his fellowship, he joined Fauji Foundation Hospital Rawalpindi as an academic lead.
Dr. Salim is actively involved in medical education, serving as a mentor and teacher to medical students and fellows. He initiated the rheumatology training program recognized by the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Pakistan (CPSP), having trained 15 rheumatologists in Pakistan to date.
He has published numerous research papers on various topics, with a particular interest in rheumatoid arthritis and MSK ultrasound.
Outside of his professional pursuits, he enjoys spending time with his family, playing table tennis, and playing the musical keyboard.
