Farhad Shahram is a Professor of Internal Medicine and consultant rheumatologist in Rheumatology Research Center, Tehran University of Medical Sciences in Iran. His main field of research is Behcet’s disease, having more than 150 published articles on this topic. He is the Head of Behcet’s Disease Research Unit, and a member of the executive committee and research committee.
He is an active delegate of the Iranian Rheumatology Association, and had been working as an executive member, secretary general and vice president for more than a decade. He has been an Iran representative in many international scientific societies. He has been a Council Member of the International Society of Behcet’s Disease since 2000. He has been a member of APLAR since 1990, and a member of the former APLAR Behcet’s disease Special Interest Group. He had been a visiting professor at Stanford University, Division of Immunology and Rheumatology for 2 years.
